Mine Tour 04/06/2016

On Saturday 4th June Albion Stone held a Mine Tour where we open the mine to the local residents so they can see and understand the work that is taking place under the surface.

Approximately 150 people turned up.  One visitor said: "It was a really interesting tour, I never realised how much stone they could get out mining, having lived on Portland all my life I'm happy that there will be no more scars to the landscape through quarrying. I'm very impressed."

During this tour £363.31 was raised which will be split evenly and donated to the Portland Museum and The Fairfield Day Centre.

Albion Stone will be opening a new Mine early 2017 that will provide as much as 250,000 cubic metres of prestigious Portland Stone.

Special thanks goes to Mark Godden, Mark Ward, Kevin Poultney, Charlotte Binder and Sarah Eames for all their help on the day.
