Completion Date:

Portland Stone:
Bowers Basebed
Scope of Project:
Refurbishment and Extension of existing building

The project comprised an extension to the rear of the existing building to form an additional 401m2 office space.

The front of the building was also re-clad with Portland Stone and contrasting brick work.

The specification for 23–25 Soho Square was for white Limestone cladding to contrast with the brick façade and complement the Portland Stone on existing buildings in the surrounding area.

The Client considered a number of stones for the project including a French Limestone, however after reviewing the technical information available it was decided that Portland Bowers Basebed was the best option, given the requirement for a flat ashlar material, and to fit in with the surrounding buildings.

Albion Stone manufactured all the stones at their Portland Factory prior to being transported for site fixing
