Scope of Project:
Construction of new office space arranged over eight storeys.

This project comprised a large office development of approximately 6,000 square metres of office floor space arranged over 8 storeys.

The design specification was for traditional Portland Stone cladding for the walls, mixed alongside anodised aluminium double glazed window units to create a modern contemporary building which was in harmony with existing buildings in the area, and the new construction at Paternoster Square.

The project team visited Albion to select Portland Stone for the ashlar panels. The Architect wanted a stone which had some shell characteristics to demonstrate its natural origins. Bowers Whitbed was chosen as the most appropriate stone.

Following a review of the test results of the material an order was placed for 205m3 of Bowers Whitbed. The project took approximately 18 months to complete and was completed in the Spring of 2000.
