The £13.9m six storey business centre, One Guildhall Square is now home to the Capita group of companies and Southampton City Council.

The client brief was to provide a modern office building, designed in a contemporary style whilst sympathising with the surrounding context in scale, character, continuity and quality. The building is designed with visual clarity, utilising structures that are contemporary and current whilst also maintaining the character and appearance of the Guildhall setting.

Albion Stone supplied finished Portland Jordans Basebed panels. The building envelope was completed using bespoke Portland Stone panels recommended by Prater in a change to the original specification.

The high quality stone produced a striking finish which matched the local vernacular and the architect'€™s original vision to match the heritage of the site.

The redevelopment is a key part of the Council's wider plans for the regeneration and economic development of the city which is expected to bring in around £175m of private and public investment.
