Albion Stone donates toys this Christmas

Toy Appeal

Each year a growing number of families call on the Dorset Echo Christmas Toy Appeal.

The appeal has been running for 19 years, to support Dorset families facing hardship. People can help by buying one extra present to go in a Dorset Echo Toy Appeal bin which is situated in many local shops.

All the toys collected will be distributed before Christmas to children who really appreciate them.

Albion Stone's office manager Kelly Matthews said:

"We're proud to support the Toy Appeal every year. Many children take toys for granted nowadays, but the kids these presents go to will genuinely appreciate them - it's nice to think that they will have an unexpected surprise on Christmas morning.

A lot of the workforce here have kids themselves, so the Toy Appeal is absolutely something that's very close to our hearts. There's so much pressure on parents to buy presents - so many people get themselves into debt at Christmas so hopefully this will relieve some of the pressure for those families.

I hope it's something a lot more local businesses get on board with to give these children memories they can really cherish. Here at Albion we try and support local charities as much as possible - particularly those that help children and older people."
