8-10 Mansion House

London EC4

Hamilton Associates
Helical Bar
Main Contractor:
John Mowlem & Co
Portland Stone:
Independent Whitbed & Bowers Basebed
Scope of Project:
Demolition of existing building and construction of new office space.

The scheme comprised the demolition of the existing 1960’s office building and the redevelopment of a new office space of 4,983 square metres arranged over five floors.

Prior to planning permission being approved by the City of London Planners, an archaeological investigation of the site took place although no finds of significant interest were reported.

Portland Stone was specified by the architect for the redevelopment of the site at 8-10 Mansion House to add character to the building, contrast with the brick band courses and to complement the surrounding heritage buildings.

Albion Stone supplied Independent Whitbed and Bowers Basebed slabs to Stone Developments ‘Ballybrew’ works for manufacture into ashlar panels throughout 1998.
