Internal Wall Linings

In traditional masonry construction in the stone formed the entire wall, however with the advent of cladding for the external envelope separate solutions for internal walls needed to be considered. Portland stone, other limestones and marble have been used as wall linings on many prestigious buildings.

Internal Wall Linings cover a structure and are designed to carry no load. There are two types; internal stones fixed by mechanical methods, i.e. stainless steel cramps similar to those used for external cladding, and wall tile fixed with adhesive. All of the beds of Portland Stone have been used on commercial and domestic building across the world.
