The stone is simply cut from the mine faces, this produces blocks and off cuts, and then processed at the factory producing finished stones and offcuts and dust. The off cuts are either processed into walling stones, processed into aggregate or required to backfill the mine to provide long term restoration. None of the product goes to landfill.
Our objectives include:
a. To increase our yield at the extraction faces and reduce the offcuts in the factory by continuously re-evaluating the production processes.
b. To make best use of the stone by encouraging less rejection of good stones for aesthetical reasons.
