Albion Stone and Hutton Stone are proud to unveil Brick From a Stone: Arch Revival at Clerkenwell Design Week 2025, which runs from 20–23 May. In collaboration with Hawkins\Brown Architects and Webb Yates Engineers, we have designed and crafted two spectacular 4 m-high, single-skin arches that showcase the unrivalled beauty, strength and sustainability of natural stone bricks.
One arch is formed from Albion Stone’s celebrated Heritage Portland Stone Bricks. The other is built from Hutton Stone’s Darney Heritage Stone Bricks. Both structures stand testament to the superior compressive strength of natural stone—and, compared with conventional clay bricks, deliver significant carbon savings over their lifecycle.
Over the past few weeks, our sister company Albion Stone Restoration has been on site at our Portland factory meticulously assembling each voussoir to exacting tolerances. This weekend, the completed arches will be transported to London and installed outside the historic Crown Tavern Pub on Clerkenwell Green.
We invite architects, designers and all visitors to experience Brick From a Stone: Arch Revival in person. Come and marvel at these bold, self-supporting stone forms and speak to our team about how natural stone bricks can bring elegance, longevity and sustainability to your next project. We look forward to seeing you on Clerkenwell Green from 20 May!
