Located in the heart of Mayfair's conservation area, 61 Curzon Street has been developed into a contemporary BREEAM Grade ‘A’ rated office and retail space.
Around 700m2 of Portland stone using a blend of Jordans Basebed and Bowers Roach was used to clad the lower two floors, creating a clean, contemporary façade.
A distinctive feature is the artwork wall design, a sculpted metal egg shaped form appears to have melted the surrounding stone positioned above the recessed metal building numbers.
The upper floors are clad in dark brick and accented with Portland stone dressings, that frame the windows, referencing the proportions and materials of the adjacent Georgian townhouses.
Portland stone was chosen because of its historical significance and aesthetic appeal, offering unique textures and fossilized patterns. The façade seamlessly integrates traditional stone in a sleek contemporary form.
The creation of the artwork wall was a meticulous process. CNC saws were programmed to cut the stone to the architects exact design. Every panel was hand-finished by one of our skilled stonemasons and carefully offered up to the surrounding panels to ensure correct alignment and fitment, resulting in a bold and cohesive entrance feature.
