Scope of Project:
Façade cladding including new roof top extension
Directly opposite the Bank of England, 7 Princes Street has been transformed form a 1970’s post-war office block into a contemporary award winning refurbishment triumph. The unappealing precast concrete panel façade has been replaced with a new, high performance ‘envelope’ of triple glazed curtain walling including Portland Stone panels, lightweight glazing and stone effect aluminium panels. The refurbishment retained up to 90% of the original concrete structure and added an additional 2-storey roof extension, culminating in 5,000m2 of BREEAM Outstanding, WELL Platinum and NABERS 5* rated premium office space.
Over 1,200 m2 of Jordans Whitbed, Stonehills Whitbed, Grove Whitbed and Bowers Roach was used to the create this immaculate façade which seamlessly blends into this historic neighbourhood. The stone was installed on site using the ‘Eclad Stone Support System’, which reduces the stones weight, allowing for maximum tolerance, flexibility and swift installation.
