Jordans Basebed
Scope of Project:
New Cantilevered staircase, Rear Staircase, Paving
This newly constructed private residence, highlights the versatility of natural Portland Stone. Jordans Basebed was used throughout this beautiful Georgian residence and is featured in a variety of applications, including 1000m² of stone flooring running throughout the property, three meticulously designed cantilevered staircases and treads and risers for the secondary staircase.
Albion Stone provided the Portland Jordans Basebed block to Boden and Ward who carried out the detailed cutting, masonry and on-site fixing for a private client. Boden and Ward quoted “We think the results speak for themselves”.
This project demonstrates how a traditional, robust stone infuses quality and helps transform a functional framework like a cantilevered staircase into a feature.
The colour of the Portland stone helps form the appearance of space and encourages more light to travel around the property.
“Simplicity, coupled with the beautiful quality of natural stone laid to such a high standard, cannot but help to ensure an outstanding interior” (Natural Stone Source Book, 2015/2016)
