One Park Drive in the new Wood Wharf district, was designed by Herzog & de Meuron and standing at 205m tall, is the landmark structure in the expansion project of Canary Wharf. The first two floors of the 58 storey tower were clad with over 1,500m2 Jordans Whitbed Portland stone.
The four quadrants to the building form the main entrance for the 484 luxury apartments. Almost 1,000 bespoke curved radial pieces were fabricated at our Portland factory to form the façade to the main entrances. Each piece of stone is curved both internally and externally to tight tolerances, that align exactly with the soffits which hang in excess of one metre from the structure.
Eiregramco utilised 3D Revit to design and produce fabrication drawings for their ‘Eclad Stone Support System’. This systems reduces the weight of the stone, allowing for maximum tolerance, flexibility and speed of install, lightening the load on the structure and allowing the stones to align perfectly. The project was expertly coordinated in conjunction with the highly skilled team at Canary Wharf Contractors.
This development has already picked up 2 awards at the 2021 International Property Awards in the best apartment and residential category as a well as an outstanding quality Award by the NHBC. A great example of the fusion of modern architectural design and local heritage Portland stone.
