Scope of Project:
Retrofit redevelopment including a 2 storey roof extension.
Back in 2000, we supplied over 2,000 m2 of Portland Stone for the façade of the then nine-storey Woolgate Exchange at 25 Basinghall Street.
Fast-forward 25 years and it is now known simply as ‘Woolgate’ after a £130m net-zero construction and retrofit focused sustainable redevelopment.
This already impressive building has benefitted from an additional two floors, creating a 4,000 sq ft communal roof terrace and 1,500 sq ft Pavillion.
The redevelopment has achieved BREEAM Outstanding and NABERS 4.5* certification, and recognition for the exemplary commitment to sustainability, circular economy practices and context sensitive design including the retention of 98% of the original structure, and façade.
For the latest chapter we supplied over 1,250 m2 of Portland Stonehill's Whitbed to clad the additional floors, along with specialist pieces for fluting, cornicing and other specific cuts.
Being part of Woolgate’s original construction was a privilege. Contributing once again to this forward-thinking transformation has been an honour, helping to safeguard it’s future as a world-class headquarters for future generations.
