Scope of Project:
Internal Kitchen, Study and Lobby Flooring and Solid Stone Steps
A kitchen renovation at a 300-year-old cottage in Surrey features a new Portland stone floor that complements the existing Heritage Portland Stone garden patio.
Approximately 65 m² of Portland Stonehills Whitbed was installed across the kitchen, lobby, and study, selected for its strength and timeless appearance. The new flooring has been carefully matched to the Heritage Portland stone patio, which was laid more than 20 years ago, ensuring a sympathetic connection between the interior and exterior spaces.
Three solid Portland Grove Whitbed steps, weighing over a tonne, were precisely fitted to link the kitchen with the formal dining room.
The cloakroom floor was finished in Purbeck Whetson limestone, supplied by Lovell Purbeck Quarry. Countertops of Calacatta Vintage Marble with a leathered finish from MGLW were set on solid wooden cabinets, completing a modern kitchen design that preserves the warmth and character of the historic cottage.
