Together with Hutton Stone, we reflect on Clerkenwell Design Week and we’re proud to say what a great success this year’s exhibition has been.
Our feature installation, Brick From a Stone: Arch Revival, proved to be one of the most photographed displays of the entire event. It attracted huge interest from architects, designers, and even members of the public considering natural stone bricks for private residential projects.

The exhibition has played a key role in raising the profile of natural stone bricks, highlighting their remarkable strength and lower carbon footprint compared to traditional clay-fired bricks.
Throughout the week, we hosted three key events;
🔹 Day One – We kicked off with a breakfast briefing and press launch to unveil the Brick From a Stone: Arch Revival display.
🔹 Day Two – We held a talk titled ‘Building with Stone Bricks’ at The Crown Tavern, discussing the design and engineering challenges behind the Arch Revival, featuring speakers:
– Steve Webb (Webb Yates Engineers)
– Magdalena Pelszyk and Candela Oliva (Hawkins\Brown)
– Edward Powe (Studiofolk Architects), sharing his experience using stone bricks on a recent project
🔹 Day Three – An open discussion at Hawkins\Brown's office on ‘The Beauty, Strength and Versatility of Stone Bricks’, led by:
– Roger Hawkins (Hawkins\Brown)
– Steve Webb (Webb Yates Engineers)
Audience members joined in with questions, contributing to a lively and insightful session.
All three events were incredibly well received, and we’re grateful to everyone who attended, participated, and supported us.
We were also delighted to receive extensive press coverage, with features in 11 different publications – all of which you can explore below.
